About the Jr. KMGS Rockhounds
Welcome to the Kettle Moraine Geological Society (KMGS) Jr. Rockhounds Club!
It started small...In 1960 a group of people, mostly rock hounds, founded the non-profit organization known as Kettle Moraine Geological Society. KMGS became a member of the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and Geological Society and the American Federation of Geological Societies.

It grew more amazing...Today our members are interested in a wide variety of related areas, such as minerals, gems, crystals, lapidary, jewelry, fluorescence, fossils, and Native American artifacts. We especially enjoy teaching young people how to collect, identify, and display specimens they find.

Introducing the Jr. Rockhounds Club!
KMGS members just love sharing their knowledge with eager young people. So they figured it was time to grow again and add the Jr. Rockhounds Club to the KMGS family.
Our members are very pleased to offer this exciting opportunity to area youth. As members in the Jr. Rockhounds Club, kids ages 7 and up will get the chance to learn more about Wisconsin's amazing geology, history and artifacts from some of the most talented experts in the area. |
